Friends of Palomar Observatory 2008 Events
August
Event is Full Saturday, August 9 from 7:00 - 10:30 p.m. Friends of Palomar Observatory Star Party. We do not have the 60-inch telescope, but we will have a fleet of small telescopes, with very little waiting in line, for viewing. Come join us for an outdoor guided tour of the constellations, views of the Moon, Jupiter and more (weather permitting).

Saturday, September 27 from 5:00 - 10:30 p.m. Tour of the 200-inch Hale Telescope followed by a Friends of Palomar Observatory Star Party. We do not have the 60-inch telescope, but we will have a fleet of small telescopes, with very little waiting in line, for viewing. Come join us on a moonless night for an outdoor guided tour of the constellations, views of Jupiter, the Milky Way and more (weather permitting).

Previous Events in 2008 March
March 15, 2008 @ 7:00 p.m. - Last year the 200-inch Hale Telescope was used to take the highest-resolution visible-light images ever obtained from Earth or space. The camera behind these observations was recently named one of Time Magazine's Best Inventions of 2007. Caltech’s Nicholas Law will explain how this exciting research was performed for the Friends of Palomar Observatory.
